In 2010 and 2011, aid shipments with clothing as well as food and consumer goods were delivered to Rauna in Latvia four times, e.g. as a joint action with the Kirchliche Lettlandhilfe Seesen or coupled with a fundraising campaign of the Propstei Seesen. We processed the textiles, optimized the packaging and thus delivered 5,000 kg of second-hand and new goods as well as shoes. Subsequently, the truck in Seesen was completed with plenty of household goods and furniture. By working together, an optimal weight/space utilization could be achieved. The cold winters of the last few years were particularly hard on the people in eastern Latvia. The clothing transports supplied a small store run by volunteer members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church congregation in Rauna.
