Clothing donations and support of social start-up projects
Tirana is the capital of Albania, a country located on the Mediterranean Sea. Albania is located opposite the Adriatic coast of Italy and has about 2.8 million inhabitants. Since 2014, Albania is an official candidate for membership in the European Union.
In Tirana, we work with the NGO (non-governmental organization) Vizion OJF. This non-profit organization works with needy families, youth, girls and women in disadvantaged rural areas in Albania. It makes an important contribution to improving education and the social and economic empowerment of vulnerable groups.
Vizion OJF is currently active throughout Albania, supporting local institutions to improve the quality of service in schools and health centers. The aim is to improve the quality of life for all citizens of Albania.
Another goal of the work in the field is to support small social enterprises founded by women and girls through knowledge and advice. This mainly concerns businesses in the field of handicrafts and clothing - made possible by local products and clothing donations from the German Clothing Foundation. Strengthening education and supporting socio-economic development are key factors for a sustainable future for the people.
The trustful cooperation already exists since 2011, when we brought clothes and laundry to the particularly affected province of Dajc Bregu I Bunes after continuous rain and floods.
